Attorney Thrash can serve as your mediator in a disputed family law case and further assist your family in creating a personalized solution to your problems.
What is mediation?
Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process during which a neutral third party, known as a mediator, facilitates communication and negotiation between opposing sides with one goal-- to reach a mutually acceptable agreement. The mediator does not decide your case, the parties get decide their case. The mediation process focuses on finding common ground and maintaining relationships. The mediator guides each party in focusing on their respective interests (eg. the best interest of the child or financial needs) rather than locked in positions (eg. what I like or don’t like). Mediation encourages the participants to focus on the family’s current needs rather than focusing on fault and blame for past actions.
Benefits of Mediation
• Confidential – information disclosed shall not be divulged by the mediator.• Control – the parties can decide their case instead of the Court.• Saves you time – typically shorter than a court hearing or trial. • Saves you money – typically costs less than going to court.• Creates options – typically provides more creative solutions than available at court.• Maintain relationships – amicable resolution instead of conflict driven. • Customized solutions – tailor-made agreements to fit your family/situation.
Mediation Cost
Mediation can be conducted in person at Attorney Thrash’s office, at your attorney’s office, or virtually (ZOOM platform). Attorney Thrash charges the following fee to conduct mediation:
Full-Day Mediation - $1,100 per party for 8 hours (9am to 5pm).Half-Day Mediation - $550 per party for 4 hours (9am to 1pm OR 1:30pm to 5:30pm).Additional charge - $150 an hour per party if session exceeds allotted time.
